He is a speedy fighter who can generate wind-based attacks with his Light Sword Weapon or sand-based attacks with his Sand Wand Weapon. Toon Link appears a playable Warrior in Hyrule Warriors. Like Young Link, he has no role in the main story of either Hyrule Warriors or Hyrule Warriors Legends. Toon Link is primarily based on the Hero of Winds from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, with the addition of a few attributes of the incarnation of Link from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. His design is based on Link ‘s more recent “cartoon” appearance starting with Four Swords and The Wind Waker, with added shading and details as opposed to his regular cel-shading.
